Senior Exploration Geologist

The Company:
Our client are an emerging metals company focused on the exploration and development of a large tenement portfolio in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia

The Role:
As the Senior Geologist you will be responsible for a small team of professionals including Exploration Geologists, Field Assistants and Contractors. Your main role will be the supervision of the geological staff and programmes, and the compilation and interpretation of drilling data as it relates to resource development. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Supervision of geological staff
• Supervision of Diamond resource definition drilling and other programmes
• Structural interpretation at prospect scale
• Resource estimation 
• Design and implementation of exploration programmes
• Target definition and ranking
• Budget control
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Accountabilities in exploration target definition/ranking
• Identifying gold resources within the tenement holding

The Ideal Person:

• Well developed technical skills in structural interpretation
• Minimum 7 years’ experience 
• Previous resource estimation experience desirable, preferably in shear hosted gold systems
• Preferably experience in field mapping
• Good supervisory and leadership ability
• Well developed report writing and presentation skills
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geology
• Membership of relevant Professional Bodies
• Expert computer literacy and systems knowledge relevant to Geosciences. MapInfo and particularly Micromine experience highly regarded.
