Engineering Manager - Underground Mining Vehicles Job

The Engineering Manager - Underground Mining Vehicles will lead the engineering team responsible for design, shop support, commissioning, and field support of underground mining equipment. In this role, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with the business leadership team to establish long-term technical strategy to meet customer needs and business objectives
• Lead the Engineering team to deliver new product and requisition designs on time
• Lead a team to address any shop or field issues
• Develop and strengthen the team’s engineering skillsets and ensure high performance
• Develop the engineering budget and operate within budget
• Develop a pipeline of engineering talent and engineering leadership

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mining or related Engineering field
• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience in Mining, Propulsion System or Equipment Design, or related industry
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading teams

Desired Characteristics:

• Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering
• Experience in a variety of Engineering processes such as Application / Requisition, Field Support, Factory Support, and new product introduction
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Underground Mining Industry
• Domain knowledge in hard rock and soft rock mining
• Field experience related to Underground Mining practices, equipment, Propulsion Systems, and vehicles
• Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with applicable engineering tools and systems
• Experience with vehicle propulsion systems including adjustable speed drives, electric motors, batteries / energy storage, and vehicle control systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• PC proficiency
