Due to continued demand and organisational growth, an opportunity exists for a meticulous Mechanical Designer to join its research, project engineering and design office. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working under the supervision of a lead drafter, you will produce 3D models, component details and assemblies for specific materials handling related projects. Additionally, you will produce bill of materials for drawings produced and interface with both the engineer, operation and projects team.
To suit this position, it's essential you will be a competent designer with sound communication skills and experience in the mining, minerals processing or heavy industrial sector. Proficient with CAD software such as Inventor and AutoCAD, you'll possess a mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail and enjoy problem solving within a complex engineering environment. Experience working for a mining equipment manufacturer or other heavy industrial equipment manufacturer is preferred.
