Responsibilities:
- The candidate hired for this position will have solid experience with shallow and deep foundation designs, mine subsidence, slope stability, knowledge of the local geology, and come from or have strong ties to the local area. PennDOT and/or PTC experience a plus. We seek a candidate who is interested in helping to grow the geotechncial side of the business, and as the office grows this position could evolve into the department manager.
- When hired for this position you will be involved with project management of geotechnical engineering projects and explorations, which consists of overseeing or performing boring layouts, clearing utilities, supervising drill rigs, performing and interpreting geophysical surveys, classifying soils, assigning lab testing, and preparing geotechnical reports. Projects typically include a wide variety of sites from residential developments to commercial and large industrial facilities. Work is also performed in the public sector; for cities, municipalities, and state and federal agencies. The firm maintains low barriers between departments and you may also be involved with construction materials testing projects. Additional responsibilities include assisting senior staff in marketing, preparing proposals, maintaining a client database, and managing budget proposals and invoices. You can expect to be involved with diverse and challenging projects in both the field and office.
Qualifications:
- BSCE required; MS in geotechnical engineering strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- PA PE required; or ability to acquire PA PE through reciprocity within three months.
- Proficiency in oral and written communications.
- Strong project management skills and a strong interest and experience in marketing and business development.
