Responsibilities:

  • The York, PA office of ECS seeks an environmental scientist with an emphasis on Phase I/II environmental site assessments, erosion and sedimentation, and industrial hygiene studies [asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint and mold/water intrusion]. Other duties may include involvement with UST related activities, and depending on your background you may also be involved in natural resource service areas such as wetland delineations, groundwater and soil investigations, geologic and risk assessments, hydrogeologic studies, remediation system design, and other aspects of industrial hygiene services such as health & safety. Experience with PADEP's ACT 2 Program would be a plus.
  • You will conduct field studies, prepare reports, interface with clients and handle related office duties. You will also be involved with client maintenance and business development, proposals and presentations. The position will be 60/40, office/field based. ECS  will provide training and assistance to the hired environmental scientist to seek accreditation as asbestos and lead based paint inspectors among other disciplines. Depending on your background and experience you will be categorized as either an environmental scientist or project manager.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of relevant experience. This is not an entry level position.
  • BS degree in geology, biology, chemistry or a discipline related to environmental science.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Project management and client development skills would be a plus.
  • Local candidates with some knowledge of PA environmental regulations [PADEP ACT 2] strongly preferred.
