Occupational Health Nurse

We are interested in hearing from experienced Registered Nurses / Occupational Health Nurses who are available to provide relief cover for various sites throughout Western Australia.

Working with leading mining companies, your role will be to provide support to line management in the delivery of health and clinic services to ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment and the minimization of risk and harm to all site personnel.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Conducting medical assessments and treatment of patients for work and non-work related injuries and medical conditions 
• Managing the medical centre including medical supplies and consumables and maintaining medical files 
• Maintaining mine workers health surveillance and testing programs 
• Providing a high level of support and advice for injury management and return to work programs 
• Responding to medical emergencies 

Successful Occupational Health Nurses will possess the following key attributes and qualifications:

• Current registration 
• Sound knowledge of assessment techniques 
• Minimum of 6 years nursing experience 
• Demonstrated experience in an industrial setting or experience in remote healthcare or emergency nursing 
• Authorized Drug and Alcohol Testing certification desirable 
• Mine Workers Health Surveillance and Audiometry qualifications advantageous 

Candidates must be able to undergo a pre-employment medical and Drug and Alcohol Testing, and have a current national police clearance.
