  • The core service areas in our Environmental Sciences and EcoSciences Practices include: environmental forensics, natural resource damage assessment, ecological and human health risk assessment, environmental economics analysis, site investigation and liability management, toxic tort claims investigation; toxicology consultation, air quality management, and water resources and water quality management.
  • Exponent offers a wide range of engineering and environmental support related to financial transactions, including project finance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and structured finance. Our professional services include environmental and social due-diligence (including environmental, social, health and safety, and labor) of proposed projects, environmental and social risk management, corporate social responsibility, and environmental and social sustainable development.
  • We are currently seeking a Senior Manager as the lead Natural Resource Economist in Exponent’s  Natural Resource Division (NRD) and sustainability services to support due diligence evaluations of international financial transactions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert consulting services on NRD cases, developing and leading all technical analyses, and directing the work of others
  • May include developing and design and implementation of surveys and conducting robust benefits-transfer studies for determining economic losses
  • Developing and implementing tools for eliciting stakeholder preferences and other econometric tools as part of ecosystem services valuation
  • Conducting analysis of ecosystem services dependencies and linkages as part of corporate strategic environmental management
  • Providing environmental and social sustainability advisory services to multinational companies, including risk management, developing biodiversity offset programs and other related services
  • Business development and marketing

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Advanced degree in Economics
  • Demonstrated leadership in valuation of non market goods and services in the context of natural resource damages assessments and resources planning and allocation
  • Experience with habitat and resource equivalency analysis, net environmental benefits analysis, and recreational benefits analysis
  • Experience with decision analysis, including multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) tools and their application in corporate environmental or resource management decision-making
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Solid leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to interact with managers, scientists, attorneys, and administrative staff
