Technical Services Manager

A Technical Services Manager is required to join a progressive coal mining operation. Great salary $300,000+ | Develop in your career

Safety & Production:

• Ensure all operations are conducted within the statutory & company standards of HSEC limitations
• Recommend changes to HSEC system or policies and consistently liaise with the compliance manager
• Instigate incident investigations and audit processes
• Implement suitable systems and procedures to ensure mine activities and tasks are subject to hazard identification and risk assessment.

Production:

• Accountable for the mine planning requirements.
• Develop & Lead technical services team
• Develop the 5yr and Life of Mine Plans
• Deliver  business  improvement  activities  to  maximise  coal recovery
• Oversee the planning of the exploration program
• Provide on-site Technical Services to deliver effective mining plan and schedule.
• Ensure timely, safe and efficient mine operations to the mine schedule.
• Develop  and  implement  best  practice  system  design  
• Manage   technical   and   commercial   assessments
• Oversee the site coal reconciliation cycle, optimising short and long term mine planning scenarios.
•  Provide short term guidance on both geological and geotechnical parameters
• Manage  the  development  of  systems  and  processes  to  enhance  site management of  geotechnical hazards and risk.
• Oversee the survey function and maintain records and data.
• Review and identify improvements in technical services practices

Procurement:

• Manage operational budget and performance
• Coordinate and liaise with management and staff to update on Technical Service Plan
• Business Plan and the achievement of its goals  
• Report to senior management any exceptions against budget and KPI's.

Essential:

• Previous experience in providing technical services to coal mine operations (at least 3 years) (Open cut or Underground)

• Degree qualified (mining engineering related)
• High level knowledge across technical specialisations
• Able to use mine planning and scheduling applications
• Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and control
• Experienced in leading a multidisciplinary team under rapidly changing conditions in a Construction / Production environment
• Communicates effectively

Desirable Skills:
Have a consultative relationship between technical and operational personnel.
Communicate with senior stake-holders and operational supervisors.
Use data to solve problems and produce actionable recommendations for change
