Grange Resources owns and operates the largest integrated iron ore mining and pellet production business in Australia. The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to the pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.
Adding to our Tasmanian operation, which currently employs 600 people, we are developing a world class magnetite project at Southdown near Albany in Western Australia. Development of Southdown will see Grange Resources becoming one of the major suppliers of quality iron ore pellets in the region.
We are seeking an Assistant Mine Superintendent to develop, coordinate and manage mining activities for our open pit mine at Savage River.
Reporting to our Mine Operations Superintendent, you will take a leading role in planning, coordinating and supervising all open pit activities to meet production and quality targets, including but not limited to:
  •  Health, Safety and Environment
  •  Production
  •  Supervisory duties, including management of work performance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and ensuring provision of adequate training
  •  Reporting and recording
We are looking for a candidate who has:
  • A degree in Mine Engineering or similar
  • Experience in short to medium term planning
  • Experience in a mining environment
  • Proven people management skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead by example, whilemaintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Possession of a Quarry Manager’s certificate would be well regarded.
