Drawing Office Checker

Our client is a worldwide technology leader in minerals and metals processing, providing and developing technology solutions for the sustainable use of earth’s natural resources. The Checker position ensures that all drawings are checked / reviewed for compliance to our Quality Assurance standards and engineering intent.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Nat Dip. (minimum).
• Ten (10) years drawing office experience.
• Needs to have good structural, civil and mechanical background.
• Parametric modelling experience will be an advantage.
• Excellent understanding of the applicable Mining and Safety Acts, Regulations, and Codes and familiarity with all aspects of mines and mine infrastructure design.
• Computer literacy a must.
• Must have excellent people and communication skills.
• English: Read, Write, Speak

Job Specification

• Ensures that all drawings are checked / reviewed for compliance to our Quality Assurance standards and engineering intent.
• Responsible for ensuring the backdraughting of checked design drawings are complete and correct and that the drawings are checked for engineering completeness by the responsible engineer.
• Constructive input and feedback to designers will be expected upon completion of project drawings.
• Checking that all relevant administrative tasks have been completed by designers.
• Checking that electronic and hard files conform to Outotec standards, applying knowledge of draughting and manufacturing methods.
• Attending internal and external meetings.
• Site visits will also be required.
