Geotechnical Engineer

Recognised as a household name within Queensland this leading coal producer continues to benefit from the mining boom with very exciting times ahead.  As such an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Engineer to join one of their major projects in central Queensland.
 
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining an accurate and validated geotechnical model for current and planned site operations, provide effective communication of known geotechnical risks / hazards, provide geotechnical advice, fit for purpose and cost effective ground control strategies as well as providing sufficient support to mine plans and schedules.  You will provide critical review controllable risks for mine plan approval, perform all statutory requirements, produce fit for purpose support plans, TARP’s and any other ad-hoc projects as requested.
 
To be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified coupled with a solid working experience in Geotechnical Engineering ideally from an open cut operation.  You will have developed strong technical knowledge with a keen eye for safety and managing risk.  You will have effective communication and organisational skills with the ability to work across various aspects of the project.
