Senior Mining Engineer - Residential

Randstad are partnering with a major global mining company in the Mining & Resources sector to appoint highly skilled Senior Mining Engineers.

The role entails team building and mentoring, to lead and handle project management for mining engineering input into scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies as well as for due diligence reviews supporting mergers, acquisitions and coal supply contracts.

Other responsibilities will be coal mine design, including dragline and truck and shovel applications, scheduling, optimisation, equipment selection and operating and capital cost estimates. Time management, budgeting and quality control for consulting assignments are requirements for this position.

You will have to compile reports for feasibility studies, technical reviews, due diligence studies and will have to liaise with mining engineers, resource geologists, and specialists from other disciplines or offices within the organisation.

Travelling both domestically and internationally may be required to support project work or for training and where necessary to provide assistance with business development, including liaison with current or potential clients. 
 
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering with extensive relevant coal experience in either Underground or Open Cut mining. CP Status would be beneficial. Previous consulting experience is advantageous but not necessary. Excellent report writing and communication skills are essential as well as a professional approach to safety.
