About our Client
Our client is a multinational mining company with many overseas branches. They operate at all levels; from exploration to retail.
About the Role
Based in Cairns, with some travel required, you will be responsible for the negotiation, preparation and administration of contracts and tenders for operational activities.
Key duties include:

• Develop, implement and manage a contracting system to include processes, procedures and the establishment of standard contract templates
• Analyse proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine accuracy of prices
• Analyse contractor performance
• Supervise and manage staff within the Contracts team
• Train and develop direct reports
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with the General Managers and external suppliers

Skill Set Required
The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with practical, hands-on experience across the entire function of Contracts Management.
Additionally, you will possess:

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Law or equivalent experience
• Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
• Proven ability to adapt and manage effectively in a fast paced and changing environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Self-motivated and driven to succeed
• Willing to travel frequently
