Logistics Manager Industrial Minerals

Our client is within the mining industry and requires an individual who will oversee the road, rail and shipping of products to Europe as well as to some destinations in and around South Africa.

Duties:

• All the logistical issues involving movement of product to point of sale hand over
• Stock reconciliation plant site
• Stock reconciliation Rail siding
• Stock reconciliation in transit
• Stock reconciliation port storages
• Road transport contracts
• Rail transport and Transnet liaison
• Port storage contracts and handling
• All logistical sub-contractors/suppliers
• Maintain ISO standards
• Investigate and implement methods to increase transport from site by 200% to end users
• current annual tonnage 120 000
• All export documentation
• Liaison with ship arrivals and loading
• All environmental and safety issue to do with logistics
• All product sampling and certification.

Requirements:

• Requires 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Understand the workings of all parts of a logistical chain
• Travel will be required

Reporting Structure:

• This Role may be based either in Durban, Johannesburg or site (their choice)
• The role reports to the General Mine Manager.
