Senior Draftsperson

• Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Draftsperson/Civil Designer for the Denver office. This individual will be responsible for:
• This draftsperson will work with a team of engineers and be responsible for providing CAD drafting and design; drawings and figures, working within the following disciplines; mine infrastructure (tailings, heapleach pad, waste rock stockpile design), reclamation, storm-water and surface-water controls, groundwater science, landfill design and remediation, and civil design for power sector and water treatment facilities.
• The candidate must have the ability to produce plan sets to include standard drawings and engineering details in accordance with company standards. The work will include extensive civil design using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. There will be an emphasis on using the most modern and efficient tools within AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• The candidate must be able to perform grading and design functions including, but not limited to, problem analysis, design layout, surface generation and manipulation, volumetric calculations, and as-built survey evaluation. Demonstrate an ability to manage production of multiple drawings and multiple projects at the same time; use good judgment to identify alternatives to assist in the resolution of design problems; taking limited information from the engineers and creating high level design packages; and manage time efficiently which includes planning, organizing, prioritizing, and following through on a variety of tasks to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

• 5+ years design experience including a range of civil design projects. Associates degree in drafting and design technology related to civil design or bachelors degree in civil engineering with strong AutoCAD and Civil3D skillset.
• Must be proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D through release 2012. Experience and knowledge with Civil 3D a must. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and detail oriented, with good oral and written communication skills and must work well with time sensitive deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Have the ability to work with minimal supervision for the preliminary design activities. Must be able to work within a team environment as well as work independently. The following skills or knowledge of will be considered a plus; LISP, VB and/or .net programming; and AutoCAD Map.
