Job Responsibilities:
- Although the position is based in Alabama, candidate can expect to work anywhere in the U.S. and be willing to travel to other countries for assignments. Work is expected to be performed at many types of sites including operating manufacturing plants. Work will be necessary when such plants are on shutdown or reduced work schedules such as during some public holidays, over the end of year period, evenings, nights and weekends.
We are particularly looking for experience or interest in performing tasks as noted below:
- Groundwater, soil, air, and waste water pretreatment sampling;
- Installation, measuring, and sampling for non-aqueous phase liquid pumps and total fluids pumps;
- Field support to geophysical survey crews (ERI, seismic, GPR, and downhole);
- Deployment of ERI electrodes and cables;
- Operating weight drop seismic source, deployment of geophones and seismic cables;
- Field support to heat pulse flowmeter pumping tests;
- Assembly and maintenance of soil, rock, and groundwater remediation systems;
- Heavy-equipment operator;
- Support for well drilling including investigation-derived waste segregation and staging;
- Welding (arc, MIG, acetylene, and plastic);
- General construction performance and supervision (plumbing, single and three phase electrical, and framing);
- Excavation and construction estimating;
- 40 hour HAZWOPER and 10 hour OSHA construction training, preferably with a current refresher certificate;
- Ability to operate a wide range of vehicles;
- Basic computer skills (including MW Word and Excel);
- Must be available for travel as needed; and
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license (CDL not required), present a professional work appearance, interact well with the public, have excellent teamwork skills, and pass a pre-employment physical including drug screening and criminal background check.
