Environmental, Health, Safety & Security Manager

Our client in the Cambridge area is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety and Security Manager for managing and maintaining the existing Safety, Health, Environmental and Security (EHSS) system within a manufacturing environment. This position is also responsible for the coordination, creation, and roll out of various EHSS projects and training. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic company.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with specialization in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Studies and CRSP certification accompanied by a minimum 5 to 8 years of Health, Safety and Environmental experience in a mid to large manufacturing company certified to 18001 and ISO 14001 or equivalent SMS, EMS. You will have excellent knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Acts for Industrial establishments and demonstrated lean, six sigma or similar process improvement methodology and problem solving skills. You will also have demonstrated leadership skills and demonstrated proficiency in training and facilitation skills

Job Duties

• Maintains company location requirements to maintain compliance with HQ and governing legislation.
• Responsible for coordination of full-time regular and contract staff who are primarily responsible for EHSS initiatives
• Maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with government health and safety regulations.
• Manages, develops and delivers EHSS strategies, policies and programs to assist company on its journey to a world class EHSS company.
• Provides technical support to facility on Safety, Ergonomic, Environmental improvements, and initiatives.
• Facilitates various teams and working groups to improve and maintain EHSS.
• Assist in case management and effective early return to work programs.
• Preparation and facilitation of compliance audit programs.
• Conduct employee training in emergency response, life safety, industrial hygiene, and chemical and fire hazards.
• Conducts safety surveys and recommends corrective action where occupational hazards exist.
• Responds to emergencies, investigates accidents and recommends corrective action.
