Fleet Mechanic - Concrete

Job Description

• Operates and inspects machines and equipment to diagnose defects. 
• Repairs and maintains tires, cars, trucks and heavy mobile equipment.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, adjustments, failure analysis and corrective actions for repairs.
• Creates work orders on all repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for all work performed.
• Coordinate with location Supervisor, or where appropriate, review Daily Driver Reports, to prioritize work accordingly.
• Input daily repair reports into Data Stream.
• Performs other tasks, or assist other mechanics, as assigned by the appropriate Supervisor.
• Communicate with personnel to ensure proper, safe and preventative vehicle maintenance, where appropriate.
• Uses welding equipment, cutting torch, pneumatic and hand tools, grinders, drill press in the performance of maintenance tasks.
• Complies with all environmental, health, safety & training policies, procedures and requirements.
• Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.
• Provide own tools per list supplied by Company.

Required Skills

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
• Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in repair and maintenance of mobile equipment required
• License: Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. Commercial driver’s license (CDL) strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have good mechanical and welding skills, certified welders preferred. Ability to operate crane, forklift, loaders, and various other types of mobile equipment preferred. 
• Must have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and equipment. 
• Must have the ability to read technical manuals and understand schematic diagrams. 
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, including reading and writing.
