Project Manager

Key Deliverables

Planning

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end by the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Develop full-scale project execution plans and associated documents
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Ensure that the contract drawings are the same as the estimate set of drawings
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments as necessary during project cycle
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals
  • Have the ability to read, interpret, analyze and forecast a project’s cost reports and determine the status of the job in terms or schedule and costing
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team. Analyze results, troubleshoot problem areas, and ensure information is forwarded as required
  • Monitor a project’s material and labour costs and ensure accurate quality reporting is being conducted
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans

Communication

  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project meetings, bi-weekly or monthly as needed
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Build, develop, and grow and business relationships vital to the success of the project and future projects
  • Conduct project postmortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements

Development (Coaching/Mentoring)

  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • (7 years) Direct work experience in a project management capacity
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management
  • Experience at working both independently an in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Adept at conducting research in project-related issues and products
  • Customer service skills an asset
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies
