ELECTRICAL DESIGNER
Calgary, AB
We are currently seeking multiple electrical designers for our Calgary office. As the successful candidate, you will assist with developing electrical power and control systems for industrial facilities. This position performs a variety of functions including field audits, conceptual design, preliminary calculations, and detailed design drawings. You will review defined assignments with independent judgment and a high degree of accuracy while maintaining the consistency of drawings with other departments. Common deliverables include single-lines, grounding layouts, lighting layouts, schematic and interconnection diagrams, cable tray and equipment layouts, equipment lists, cable schedules and cable block diagrams. The role will perform site field audits for retrofit or upgrades and participate in plant commissioning and start-up.
Using your organizational and communication skills, you will work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and project team members to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards. You will also continually foster and grow strong relationships with our clients.
Key qualifications:
- Engineering Technology Diploma in Electrical Power and Industrial Controls;
- 3 to 8 years of experience in an industrial design and construction environment;
- Knowledgeable with the Canadian Electrical Code;
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Technical competence and attention to detail.
