Field Electrician

Description

• Performs electrical repairs, upgrades and maintains to systems on stationary and portable gravel equipment and Asphalt Batch plants at multiple plant sites within the East Tennessee area.  Will act as a liaison between contractors and the Company when necessary.  
• Purchases and picks up parts as required to perform repairs.  Performs regular preventative maintenance on plant equipment and offices.  
• Other duties as assigned.

Special Skills and Requirements:

• May be required to lift pipe weighing up to 60 pounds.  Will be required to wear protective gear and to take other precautions due to exposure to electrical equipment, burning materials, and extreme heat and noise.

Education And/or Experience Required:

• High School graduate or equivalent required.  Must have experience as an Industrial Electrician in a plant setting.  
• Must be familiar with motor control, NEC Code, and PLC's.  
• Must be computer literate.  
• Experience with low and medium voltage is required.  
• Two (2) years’ experience in the electrical field is required; two (2) to three (3) years in aggregate operations and asphalt plants is preferred.  M
• ust have strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local electrical codes; electrical theory; must utilize safety procedures when working with electricity; knowledge of wire splicing, grounding, and temperature loss; basic knowledge of electronics.  
• Must be skilled in pipe bending and troubleshooting electrical problems.
