About Our Client
This is a great opportunity to progress your career within a highly reputed Australian based coal producer with operations across Queensland and New South Wales and now one of Australia's largest listed coal producers. Due to recent expansion in their Bowen Basin open pit there is an opening for a Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist who has the drive and desire to progress their career.
Job Description
The senior mine geologist will provide technical evaluation of operations with the aim of optimising geological interpretation and coordination of coal mining for all surface mining operations. The senior mine geologist will work closely with members of both the technical and production teams to ensure that coal mining schedules and geological interpretations allow for maximum recovery of coal and minimum dilution of coal.
You will provide leadership and mentoring for a small geology team and will be responsible for coordinating the collection of geologically relevant data, pit wall mapping.
Directs coal exposure and mining sequence in conjunction with Mining Engineer.
Provide updated coal model information to others in Operational Planning .
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role, a solid understanding of coal geology is required.
Previous experience using Minex design software is a must.
AcQuire and Vulcan software will be highly regarded.
Ideally candidates will have 5+ years experience in the coal / mining industry.
