Manager of Purchasing

Overall Job Purpose:

• Oversee the procurement of goods and services to ensure that the processes are performed in an accurate and ethical manner.

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and/or adhere to corporate purchasing guidelines and procedures
• Plan, direct, and supervise the timely and accurate purchasing of goods
• Maintain backorder reports with suppliers to ensure inventory levels at supplier locations meet or exceed the orders placed
• Disposal of equipment, materials, and supplies determined to be surplus or obsolete
• Negotiate purchase orders, contracts, service/term agreements, and consignment partnerships
• Expedite orders; monitor and perform price changes
• Ensure adherence to insurance requirements and MSDS regulations
• Coordinate with managers and vendors for the delivery of parts and supplies
• Oversight of all capital projects and equipment purchases at location
• Travel with managers on warranty and equipment issues
• Work with the accounts payable department to expedite the timely processing and payment of invoices

Preferred Education & Experience:

• 10 years of experience in materials procurement and/or warehousing preferred
• B.S. in Business or relevant degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• Efficient/effective organizer and team player with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Strong analytical ability
• Self–starter and capable of working independently
• Able to plan/handle multiple assignments and work with multiple disciplines and departments across the mine site
• Proficient use of Ellipse materials management software as well as Microsoft Office
• Position will report to: Business Manager
