Senior Mine Planning Engineer - Iron Baron - Whyalla

Arrium Mining, part of Arrium Mining and Materials, is a fast-growing iron ore mining business. This year we're doubling our export capacity and will start producing iron ore from our Coober Pedy operations in the fourth quarter of 2012, as well as continuing operations at our existing mine sites. Reporting to the Mine Planning Manager you will carry out short to medium term mine planning and scheduling requirements for the Whyalla Mining Operations.  You will liaise with Contractors, Geologists and the long term planning team to ensure development of mine schedules.  Monitoring mining operations and provide support in resolving daily mining operational issues will also be an important part of this role.


As a professional Mining Engineer you will have extensive mines operations experience coupled with a strong background in planning and scheduling. Experience in Datamine and Surpac will also be highly regarded. We need a strong leader with well developed interpersonal skills to manage the competing demands of this critical function.
