Health and Safety Specialist

Description:

The chosen candidate will be reporting directly to the area manager - health, safety and training.

The successful candidates key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Facilitating and administering a comprehensive health and safety management program across all levels of the company.
• Participating in regular JOHSC meetings.
• Conducting regular safety inspections and taking corrective actions as needed.
• Conducting follow ups with coordinators on accident and claims investigations and following through on corrective actions and root cause analysis.
• Providing guidance to employees and management through training, consultation and implementation of Health and Safety policies.

Requirements

The chosen candidate will have:

• A diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from a recognized post secondary institution. achieved or be working toward a CRSP
• Three to Five years experience in a Health and Safety or related role.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs will be considered an asset
