Mechanical Fitters/Electricians - North Queensland

Company: We represent a global resources company leading the way in Australian mining with an impressive national range of operations. Operating state of the art open cut and underground operations along with processing and smelting facilities, our client seeks Mechanical Engineers for their Zinc Lead Concentrator and Smelter.


Position: As a Mechanical Fitter or Electrician, you will need proven experience in a similar position within base metals mining and have worked at a smelter, concentrator or refinery. This position will see you perform the following:

• Performing general maintenance duties, inspection and servicing of equipment, maintenance and repair of pumps and pipelines along with periodic shutdown maintenance
• Trouble shooting and fault finding
• Planning, organising and controlling maintenance operations and requirements
• Completing work planning sheets and work orders

Essential Position Requirements: Mechanical Fitter & Electrician

• Trade qualifications and a current Manual Drivers Licence
• Proven experience in a similar role within the Australian base metals/minerals mining sector
• Proven fixed plant maintenance skills, exp with conveyors, mills, crushers, gearboxes desirable
• Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills
• High level communication and time management skills
• A demonstrated commitment to health, safety and quality
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency essential
• Must have a flexible and positive attitude
