Mine Deputy - Underground Coal - Central Queensland

Our client is one of the world's largest mining and metals companies, operating in numerous countries and employing thousands of people. They have over 30 operating coal mines throughout Australia and beyond with plans for further sites in the near future.

They are currently looking for a number of Mine Deputies for one of their operations in Central Queensland. This role can support FIFO or DIDO/BIBO and also can offer housing subsidies for residents in the local community.

The role and responsibilities of the Mine Deputy will include:

• Accept full accountability and responsibility for the safety and operation of your mining panel
• Statutory duties in the work area as well as developing and maintaining the highest possible safety, housekeeping and production performance standards
• Responsible for all production and maintenance activities in your area. 
• Leader your crew delivering tool Box talks, overseeing risk assessments and implementing production and maintenance plans within the guidelines of the mine's Management Plans.

To be considered for the role of Mine Deputy you will require:

• Proven experience in a similar role
• Relevant ERZ Controller Certificate of Competency
• Genuine commitment to safety and demonstrated ability to operate in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Experience in shot firing
• Ability to practice and promote safe work behaviours
