Environmental Scientist

Description

HDR seeks an Environmental Scientist in the Boise, ID office with at least 4 years of mining and/or environmental project experience.

This person will work on a variety of exciting projects including environmental baseline studies, NEPA documents, wetland delineations, wetland mitigation, field monitoring, reclamation, habitat restoration, surface water modeling.

Specific Duties:

• Assists in development of environmental permitting strategies.
• Assists in developing environmental monitoring and compliance programs.
• Field work involving environmental resource characterization.
• Experience in Section 404 Permitting.
• Help to develop project objectives, based on proposal and contractual requirements.
• Help to maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving issues.
• Communicate with external clients and internal delivery team members.
• Work on multi-disciplinary project delivery teams.
• Assists in marking pursuits.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology or Landscape Architecture.
• 4+ years of experience in several of the following areas: Environmental Permitting, Mining Experience, Hydrology, Plant Identification, Soils, Reclamation, Soil Stabilization and Technical Writing.
• Must understand Federal and State regulatory requirements for environmental projects, as well as understand basic mining operations, closure, and reclamation
• AutoCAD and GIS experience preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills a must.
