The Company: 
 
Our client designs, develops and manufactures telemetry equipment for monitoring propane and industrial gas tanks and cylinders.   They have outsourced the manufacturing of their products to several Chinese based production companies (EMS), whilst retaining ownership of design, prototyping, production and product quality. With new products planned they are looking to improve production yields and reduce in service failure rates, 
 
Due to their continued expansion they are looking to employ a senior, experienced Test Engineer to work with their R&D and Production team to design, develop and implement test strategy and systems.
  
The Role:   

• You will work with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to meet testability & manufacturability goals ensuring new products can be readily tested and built.
• Enhance production yield, reducing production costs
• Reduce risk and level of in-service failure, meet in service failure goal
• Evaluate test requirements for critical vendor components
• Develop, define and maintain key specifications and test methodology including:
• Test methodology and procedures
• Diagnostic design specification
• Manufacturing test requirement design specification
• Design for testability
• Test Plan
• Participate in review and approval process of
• Schematics & board layout
• Electrical & Diagnostic specification review
• DFMEA and PFMEA documentation
• Test coverage documentation  

The Candidate:
Ideally you will have:

• A Bachelors Degree in a related electronics engineering discipline (BSEE, BSCE, BSCS).
• Have 5+ years of electronic products test experience (characterisation & production) in complex EMS environments.
• A sound knowledge of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) testing and failure modes.
• Experience in the design for manufacture and testing of PCBA electrical circuits.
• Project management capability - ability to lead on a project and mobilize internal/external resources. 
• Experience working with/qualifying outsourced testing in Chinese EMS facilities.
• Excellent computer, programming & data collection/statistical analysis skills.
• Experience with verification and test of embedded systems, firmware and automated test equipment with a good understanding of hardware and related test tools.
• Experience in developing accurate and detailed level of effort estimates for budgetary and project planning purposes with the ability to perform to detailed schedules for realising new test systems.
