Commercial Manager

A great opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join this huge Tier 1 Contractor based in a permanent role including very good remuneration and conditions working within O&G projects and operations!

One of the largest Tier 1 Contractor’s operating within Australia has a large project in process and as a result there is now a need to hire an experienced Commercial Manager. This high level role will look after all commercial matters and protect the interests of the company in regard to the commercial matters on site for this large O&G project initially.  This is a role where you are partly a contracts manager dealing with the vendors for procurement etc and also in line with project controls so it may also suit if you have a project management and finance background at a senior level for O&G projects.

As an ideal candidate you will have already been involved in the management of contracts and cost as a senior on a project which has exceeded $200 million in value for Oil & Gas - working for a contractor company. 

The main function of this role will be to (but not limited to):

• Analyse and evaluate commercial risk. 
• Manage internal stakeholder and project relationships. 
• Streamline and improve contract management process. 
• Maintain records of contractor performance. 
• Provide technical and contract expertise to project teams as required.

The main focus for the Commercial Manager will be to ensure all controls are in line with the contracts and compliant with legal statutes and adhere to all terms agreed by the client.

As an ideal candidate you will need:

• 10 years or more as Senior Project Management Professional – Project Controls/ Commercial Manager 
• 5+ years as a Manager at a senior level 
• Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, project management or an engineering subject is essential 
• A successful track record in working on high value projects.  
• Strong leadership, drafting, communication and organisational skills. 
• A high level of commercial acumen coupled with an acute ability for risk mitigation.  
• Effective communication skills across all levels.
