Technologist Radiation Protection & Waste Management

Large mining company is urgently looking for a Technologist Radiation Protection & Waste Management to be based within the Limpopo area.

Qualification/Requirements:

• N-Dip in Environmental or related Field (NQF 6)
• RPO Accreditation with Regulator
• Valid Public driver's license. (C1, EC, EC1)
• Computer literate on Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• RPO accreditation with a related tertiary qualification

Duties/Responsibilities:

• The purpose of the job is to develop, design, implement, maintain and continually improve: The Radiation Protection Programme and The Waste Management Programme
• Identify and analyse international and local legal requirements relating to radiation and report to all applicable legislative frameworks and ensure compliance.
• Give guidance on changes to ensure compliance.
• Identify, develop, facilitate and assist in risk assessments, which include personal monitoring-, transport-, water- and product assessments. Manage and evaluate all projects related to these assessments.
• Identify, develop and/or evaluate methods for the treatment and disposal of NORM related waste.

• Identify, manage, maintain and continually improve routine Environmental Programs. 
• Execution of the incumbent's duties will assist in complying to the requirements of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act, Environment Conservation Act, National Water Act, Water Act, Water Services Act, Air Pollution Control Act, Nuclear Regulatory Act and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
