Equipment Operator (Houma)

Perform duties related to:

• Operating, maintaining, and repairing mobile equipment such as loaders, bulldozers, trucks, etc.
• Performing pre-shift inspections on equipment
• Lubricate, make minor repairs, and train others on equipment as necessary
• Truck weighing, ticket reporting and delivery coordination.
• Plant Management System including daily entry of payroll time entry, distributions, daily production logs, and inventory maintenance.
• Equipment Management System relating to daily entries of equipment operations.
• Must have the ability to organize, work under pressure, and communicate effectively with customers and co- workers as well as the general public in a professional manner. Weekend and night work may be required on occasions.

Required Skills

• Valid driver’s license required. 
• High school diploma required.
• Technical or college degree preferred.
• 2-3 years knowledge and experience working in a fast-paced production environment is a must. 
• Office and clerical experience including word processing and excel are preferred.
• Knowledge of state highway weight regulations, capacities, and limitations is a plus.
• Position requires the ability to read and understand operating and maintenance instructions as well as safety rules.
• Knowledge of basic computer applications, truck scales, and company products and sizes, including prices and end usage is highly desired.
• In addition, knowledge of company policies and personnel procedures will be required.
