Radio Communications Technician

  • $75k + Base (experience dependant) + Vehicle

Installation and maintenance of digital 2 way radio infrastructure and wireless networks with a strong Mining focus. Work with Industry leading brands and global clients.

Your responsibilities:
  • Modify, repair, maintain and install communication systems, equipment, parts and accessories. 
  • Analyse technical problems using test equipment and make "on-air tests" in accordance with customer operational environment. 
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions in company and other related third party system equipment including linking microwave, multiplexing equipment, RF antenna and power systems. 
  • Verify conformance of each customer's frequency and power output for compliance with prescribed equipment specification, maintenance inspection plan and ACMA regulations. 
The requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years experience installing and maintaining 2 way radio's and infrastructure 
  • Radio trades certificate or relevant qualifications 
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills 
  • Experience with digital trunking systems (DMR and TETRA) 
  • Thorough understanding of RF principles and antenna systems 
  • Proven experience with UHF / VHF technologies 
  • Understanding of IP networking principles 
  • Knowledge of wireless data
