Planner
Maintenance Planners - 3-8 yrs experience - Staff roles - Owner / Producer (NOT EPC)
Due to a large increase in projects required for our client's Fort Mac operations, we would like to hear from any Maintenance Planners with at least 3 years in a planning or scheduling position.
This is a staff position where we will accept applications from across Canada but only from overseas if an open work permit is already in hand.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Planning and Scheduling Team Lead your will plan and prepare routine and preventive maintenance for Mechanical and Piping activity for efficient maintenance across their projects
- Review and analyze work orders
- Manage planning backlog and interface with production area
- Ensure work order coding is accurately reflected in terms of equipment, priority, and financial coding
- Prepare complete job plans for the efficient execution of corrective mechanical work involving:
- Conduct field visits to scope job requirements
- Include HSE Requirements, Job Steps, Support Crafts Requirements, Materials, Fabrication Steps, Cost Estimate, Engineering and Inspection Requirements, and Operation requirements in plans
- Initiate requisition of non stock items
- Check that planned work has realistic completion dates
- Interfacing with the Scheduler, Analyst, and Maintenance and Operations Coordinators
- Perform Preventive Maintenance jobs, load leveling and resource smoothing
- Interfacing with Engineering and QA/QC group
- Initiating the procurement of materials and equipment
- Evaluate job feedback to improve future work and update best plans
- Create, use and maintain plant history and other technical information to include in current job plans
- Interfaces with project and plant change planning as required
- Assist with turnaround and plant changes when needed
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Maintenance background (Journeyman Certification: Millwright/ Pipefitter)
- 3-8 years in a Planning or Scheduling position is desired
- Experience in planning for multiple crafts
- Proficiency in CMMS systems, specifically Equipment Maintenance, Purchasing Modules
- SAP experience is an asset
- Proficient in MS Work, Excel, and MS Project
- Knowledge of maintenance business processes and best practices, roles of specific trades, and manufacturing processes in an Upgrader, Refinery, or similar Petrochemical operation
- Strong organizational and effective time management skills
- Flexibility in managing changing priorities and ability to work with minimum supervision
- Courses and seminars in the following area: Scheduling, Planning, Estimating, and Time Management are an asset
- Experience in a team environment is desired
