Engineer Manager - Mining & Metals

Our client has an immediate position opening for an Engineer Manager. Experience working on mining and metal project(s).

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• To provide Leadership and Management
• Ensure that staff works within the organization's policies and procedures
• Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
• Ensures department meets project goals and objectives in a timely manner and at the level of quality as demanded by the organization.
• Increase the technical, managerial and professional skill-sets within Engineering.
• To mentor, guide and support members of the Group and others.
• To offer experience and knowledge to the Department and other departments.
• To offer assistance and services to clients (internal and external) as required.
• Oversees the management of the progress of department commitments (in accordance with project scope, schedule and procedures) to ensure successful project completion.

General Requirements

• Legally allowed to work in Canada
• An engineering degree from a recognized institution
• Membership or eligibility with the Order of Engineers of Quebec
• Related technical and management experience.
• Experience in mining and metals.
• Considerable knowledge of Canadian and codes and standards
• People oriented with an ability to establish a high degree of credibility with staff and clients
• Bilingual (English and French)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience
