Environmental Engineer
The Environmental Engineer duties will include:
- Administer the [Company] Safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the facility.
- Develop and implement solutions for various environmental programs.
- Managing contracted engineering firms on environmental projects.
- Communicating with agencies (verbal and written), facilities and personnel on various issues including regulation interpretation and application, production requirements and methods and application of technologies.
- Interaction with various Federal, State and Local environmental agencies.
- Activities related to the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act.
- Permitting and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Learn and understand the steelmaking processes.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Mechanical), Environmental Science, or related degree.
- Preferred candidate will have two or more years of environmental management experience in an industrial setting or steelmaking experience.
- Good communication, organization and interpersonal skills are required. Experience in Word, Excel and PowerPoint is also required.
- Previous experience in Air Compliance is a plus.
