HV Testing & Commissioning Engineers - Substations

Looking for experienced HV Testing & Commissioning Engineers looking to take advantage of the lucrative earning potential of the buoyant resource market in WA. 

Immediate vacancies based residentially in Perth (this is NOT an interstate FIFO role) to service regional projects on a FIFO basis. Client will support family relocation!

Experience required;

• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (diploma/degree)
• Good previous engineering experience in the commissioning and testing of substations, secondary systems and protection relays (5 years+)
• Substation testing familiarity (Omricon equipment)
• An understanding of substation design practices
• Excellent Health, Safety and Environment knowledge and understanding
• Local experience and knowledge of Australian electrical testing and commissioning standards is essential

My client is currently working on probably one of the largest projects in Australia, involved in the Testing and Commissioning of HV terminal and zone substations for a major mining house within regional WA.

The nature of the role is to supervise the construction technicians in the testing and commission phase with good substation testing familiarity. 


During project downtime or delays, the Testing and Commissioning team returns to office and works in the transmission engineering, design and drafting fields. This could be an excellent opportunity to gain valuable Professional Development in other areas of T&D where required.

• HV Testing & Commissioning Engineer role duties:
• Commissioning, Documentation and Performance Testing of Zone and terminal Substation projects
• Oversee project HV Technicians in testing and commissioning activities.
• Work alongside project staff in design and commissioning disciplines to coordinate project activities 
• Conform to industry standards and procedures
• Client and stakeholder management
