This privately owned Australian manufacturer commenced business in 1976 and now operates from modern factories located in the SE area of Melbourne and SW of Brisbane.
It is now the preferred supplier to key players in the Transport Industry and supplies these companies with aftermarket products.
In recent years they have initiated a program to upgrade their equipment to enable it to offer the latest manufacturing processes to its clients hence offering products at the highest quality standard whilst keeping the manufacturing costs down. They are Quality Accredited to ISO9001 and ISO14000 certified.
Over the past 10 years the organisation has achieved constant growth. Innovation drives the manufacturing operations of the company and substantial resources have been devoted to ensure their research and development program remains the best in the industry. A lean manufacturing culture has been adopted within the company including Lean Capability, 5S, and Just in Time delivery, which ensures they have the resources to maintain its global competitiveness.
Reporting to the Managing Director this role is responsible for Production, Engineering, Logistics and Purchasing. Planning, directing and coordinating the manufacturing process in accordance with the company goals and objectives whilst also analysing delivery and inventory issues and providing solutions are also key to the role. Driving business targets and production efficiencies, with particular attention on shop floor safety and continuous improvement activities (lean principles) are critical functions. The team consists of skilled trade professionals including welders, fabricators, painters etc. supported by CNC / Robotic machines.
Commercially astute and a seasoned professional your reputation as a leader of people supported by strong motivational, influencing and training skills will be well placed. Being a hands-on individual who can think and act strategically as necessary you will interact closely with your team leaders, peers and customers building on your strong relationship skills. Your personal energy, drive and general enthusiasm will enable you to get things done and make things happen in a timely and efficient manner.
Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in Engineering, Business or similar with a track record in a “job shopping” / machining or industrial type manufacturing environment. Strong computer skills are mandatory.
