Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer - Intermediate - Calgary - Contract

With a minimum of 5 years experience as a Professional Electrical Engineer, you will already possess Canadian experience within the EPC sector.

This position is to work in the major projects group within our client's office in Calgary

Responsibilities:

• Review/check design drawings
• Develop the electrical design for current projects or proposals
• Direct electrical input into the detailed scope of work, design basis document and project execution plan
• Prepare cost estimates for bids and proposal work
• Review the work of others to integrity of design
• Determine the detailed engineering design criteria
• Ensure that all discipline deliverables are checked and verified

Requirements:

• 5+ years of accomplished experience in electrical engineering, majority of that in oil and gas
• Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Prepare electrical drawings package based on the applicable codes, standards and client specifications
• Experience with electrical layouts, JB wiring diagrams, motor/VFD schematics, cable schedules, EHT design, etc. utilizing design/drafting team
• Sizing of utility transformer and dealings with utility companies for site connection
• Experience with voltage drop calculations, cable tray fill calculations, etc.
• Experience with medium voltage will be an asset

• MCC, Switchgear (Must Have)
• HV (Must Have)
