Our client in the Cambridge area is currently seeking a Health Safety Specialist from a manufacturing environment to join their team in this exciting role with a dynamic company.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 3 years of Health, Safety and Environmental experience in a mid to large manufacturing company certified to 18001 and ISO 14001 or equivalent SMS, EMS. You will have excellent knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Acts for Industrial establishments with strong focus on environmental requirements and demonstrated lean, six sigma or similar process improvement methodology and problem solving skills with a College Professional Certification or equivalent - Occupational Health & Safety and CRSP designation preferred. Assets for this role include are experience in Hazardous Waste management, Environmental green project's and have working knowledge of/certificates of Approval for air and water, NPRI.
Job Duties
- Responsible for maintaining the existing Safety, Health and Environmental (EHS) system.
- Responsible for the coordination, creation and roll out of various EHS projects and training.
- Maintain company requirements to maintain compliance with HQ and governing legislation.
- Develop and deliver EHS strategies and programs to assist the company on its journey to a world class EHS company.
- Technical support to facility on Health and Safety, Environmental and safety risk management initiatives.
- Facilitate various teams and working groups to improve and maintain EHS.
- Develop and deliver training content is numerous formats. Classroom, On-Line etc.
- Preparation and facilitation of compliance audit programs.
