Senior Field Technician

Job Responsibilities:

• Individual will conduct system operation and maintenance of remediation systems, construction monitoring and testing activities for earthen and geosynthetic containment systems for a variety of solid waste landfill facilities, and soil and groundwater sampling following Florida Standard Operating Procedures. Will also support field work on geotechnical projects, environmental monitoring or other environmental projects, as necessary.

Job Requirements:

• Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science or a related technical field and at least 10 year experience. A technician without a degree but with relevant field experience will also be considered. Must be available for travel as needed. The candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Candidate must be eligible for employment status in U.S., possess a valid U.S. driver license and passport, present a professional work appearance, interact well with the public, have excellent teamwork skills, and pass a pre-employment physical including drug screening and criminal background check. NICET and/or GRI Certification and OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER training and certificate a plus.
• Experience with installing and maintaining remediation systems, soil inspection and compaction testing, soils laboratory testing, and geosynthetics inspection and testing.
• Nuclear gauge operation, testing and sampling of soils.
• Geosynthetics monitoring and testing.
• Soil and Groundwater Sampling Procedures.
• Geotechnical logging and sampling.
• Reporting daily and weekly activities associated with the project.
• Working closely with Project Management, communication of results, issues or concerns.
