Accountant - Sales & Use Tax

Job Description

• Develops, prepares and/or assists in preparing and reviewing sales, use, severance, and fuel tax returns for the company in a shared service center environment.  Manages tax audits and prepares defense work.  Analyzes and reconciles related general ledger accounts.  Works with divisions and other Shared Accounting Services areas to ensure that accurate and timely information is available.
• Implements, maintains and/or supports business processes necessary for effective and efficient operation as well as to ensure compliance with external government regulations and internal policies and procedures.  Develops and implements process improvements and performs analysis of process information to ensure process efficiencies.

Required Skills

• B.S. Degree in Accounting with minimum five years relevant experience. 
• Experience with division finance and accounting and/or Accounting within a shared service environment is beneficial.  Excellent organizational and analytical skills are required. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet tax return deadlines with a focus on quality, efficiency and cost reduction.  Successful candidate must be detail oriented, able to multi-task and have excellent interpersonal skills.  Good communication and computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word) are essential.  Vertex tax software experience is preferred.   Intermediate skills in Oracle or other ERP systems is required.
