Mechanical Engineer

Overall Job Purpose:

• This position is responsible for providing mechanical engineering support by providing design and technical assistance for all aspects of the ADDCAR Highwall Mining System. ADDCAR’s core business is the production of the ADDCAR Highwall Mining System. The system is a patented technology that allows mining companies to mine ore from entries up to 2,300 feet in depth, without having any personnel underground. Since conception of the system, ADDCAR has produced 40 of the Highwall Systems that have been sold, leased, and used in contract mining, throughout the world. ADDCAR utilizes a small engineering group that has complete engineering responsibility from design conception to manufacturing and field assistance. 

Responsibilities Include:

• Mechanical engineering projects as assigned
• Mechanical component, machine, and system design using Inventor
• Hydraulic system design and equipment modifications
• Manufacturing support, system start-up support, as well as customer support
• Occasional travel both domestic and international may be required

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or ABET Accredited 4 year BSMET
• Taken and Passed the FE Exam
• 5 years of design experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• FEA training or experience
• CAD Training, preferably Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical
• Hydraulic component, system and trouble-shooting training, or experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
