Manager, Employee Development and Training

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Manager, Employee Development will provide organizational employee learning and development programs that enhance knowledge, skills, and performance of SMS employees. Duties will include identifying, delivering and evaluating training and development needs using both internal and external resources. The successful candidate champions a continuous learning environment including the management of knowledge and the intellectual capital of the organization.

Qualifications

This position requires a post-secondary diploma / degree in adult education or equivalent along with 7 - 10 years' experience within the learning and development fields and/or human resources. In addition, the successful candidate should have:

• A sound understanding of the underlying theoretical principles and concepts associated with the subject area
• The ability to operate in a diverse environment with a significant focus on client relations
• Ability to work in a demanding environment with strict deadlines and tight schedules
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in software application
• Strong oral and written communication skills
