Production Planner

Our client in the Cambridge area is currently seeking a Junior to Intermediate Production Planner to join their expanding team who will be responsible to implement and maintain an accurate scheduling system based on customer/project needs.

The successful candidate will have a Materials Management college diploma or equivalent experience with 3-5 years experience in relevant field (I.E project based manufacturing) and working knowledge of ERP systems. You will have knowledge of fabrication shop production processes and disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems. Familiarity with ASME and ISO 9001 requirements as well as Project Management experience would be an asset

Job Duties

• Analyze and measure the current production status and identify problem areas that inhibit full schedule realization
• Identify and react to plans that do not meet project requirements and monitor implementation of corrective action plans
• Accountable for inventory controls, investigations of relevant variances and implementing systemic mitigations on such variances
• Maintain integrity of current inventory and WIP values in manufacturing system, constantly driving a JIT focus and minimizing on hand inventory levels
• Establishment and maintenance of work flow throughout the production shop, tracking open work orders and maintenance of project job status
• Act as liaison between engineering and production mediating any design vs. build issues
• Generate and control all shop floor paperwork (production and field service), including but not limited to job creation, job tracking, and job closures
• Generation of purchase requisitions for the procurement of all project related materials based on job requirements and taking into account on hand inventories
• Perform additional assignments per Manufacturing Coordinator's direction
