Mechanic

This position is located in British Columbia working with one of the world’s premier mining companies. Our client is looking for someone that can hit the ground running.

Requirements:

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic ;
• 2-5 years as a Journeyman Mechanic in an industrial/mining operations setting;
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance and repair of diesel equipment; as well as strong knowledge of mine operations standards, policies and procedures;

Must be able to perform physical tasks, lifting heavy equipment; in addition to working in adverse conditions (remote locations, camp environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform planned maintenance by scheduled dates in a cost effective and safe manner to maximize equipment availability;
• Safely troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems and conduct breakdown repairs within planned timeframes, without compromising the integrity of the equipment;
• Ability to prepare reports on maintenance, repairs, overhaul and test equipment according to the manufacturers recommendations;
• Perform complex diagnostic procedures on all site equipment and determine the appropriate maintenance and repairs accordingly;
• Ability to troubleshoot with little supervision and proficient in the use of all hand tools and mechanical equipment;
• Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations; * Inspect mobile and stationary equipment for defects or required repairs.

Salary

• $32-35.00 An extra 15.00 an hour on the weeks you are in camp.
