Senior Environmental Specialist

Description

• This position requires knowledge of environmental restoration processes. Successful candidate will work with a team of environmental specialists who will be expected to research documents and databases, perform data collection, to help identify environmental data gaps. IT skills are highly desirable for all team members. Environmental restoration experience associated with government contracts is desired. Experience with Performance Based Remediation (PBR) or performance based contracts and remediation processes are desired.

Expectations of the position include:

• Maintaining professional knowledge of a wide variety of environmental regulations and issues.
• When required, engage in the interpretation of data, standards, codes and regulations related to environmental restoration.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• When requested, expect to speak with government Program Managers (PMs) and government contractor personnel about technical reports, data and databases.
• May assist with data and statistical analysis, data collection, and data visualization.

Education

• Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Environmental, Science or Engineering field (preferred).

Experience

• 10 to 15 years of experience working with environmental programs.
• Environmental certification – Registered Environmental Manager (REM) (preferred)
• Proficient communication in the English language
• Proficient presentation skills
• Ability to document
• Ability to read and interpret policies and programs
• Ability to coordinate meetings
• Ability to coordinate with others in Environmental matters
• Computer literate
• Proficient use of MS Office suite, especially MS Excel.

Special Requirements/Certifications

• Position may require a NACI for security certification for work on certain automated systems.
