Plant Manager Sand & Gravel
Key Responsibility Areas -
- Dredge Planning and Development - Supports the development and execution of the dredging activities to ensure they are done efficiently and safely.
- Production/ Budgeting - Responsible for ensuring the plant production goal is met to support sales and customer demands. Manages plant production costs so desired plant margin is achieved. Prepares and justifies the operating and capital budgets so that plans are developed to achieve the plant’s profitability target.
- Quality Assurance - Monitors quality control procedures to assure the quality of material is produced safely and efficiently. Coordinate with sales personnel to understand desired inventory and production needs.
- Safety - Responsible for enforcing safety policies and procedures, MSHA, OSHA, and other regulations and establishing a positive safety culture to ensure employees have a safe working environment.
- Supervision - Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and discipline of employees in accordance with company policies. Responsible for developing employees to maximize production efficiencies.
- Community Relations - Supports various community relations and educational programs within the area.
- Responsible for promoting high standards for plant appearance.
Required Skills
- B.S. degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in aggregate industry operations, preferably a sand and gravel operation. Direct experience and a thorough knowledge in methods and techniques of dredging and sand and gravel plant operation is strongly preferred.
- Under minimum supervision, responsible for ensuring that maximum production and shipment of materials are at the lowest cost while complying with all safety and environmental procedures. Ensures quality of material for that facility.
- Promotes good customer and community relations.
