Building Envelope Engineer - Senior Project Manager

• Due to the continued growth in the Building Envelope and Facilities [BE&F] market sector, the Chantilly, VA office of ECS seeks a Senior Project Manager for our Specialty Facilities Consulting Department. Technical competence along with 5-10+ years’ experience is expected, but equally important is embracing the need to grow the department and its top line while managing the bottom line. The position requires outwardly visible business development efforts as well as training, mentoring and managing junior staff on matters of a technical nature. We seek an individual with an interest in supporting the growth in the BE&F market sector as we continue to expand our presence in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Responsibilities:

• When hired for this position you will be involved with building assessments, design of repairs to existing building envelope components including: roofs, curtain walls, masonry, EIFS and pre-cast concrete. Responsibilities include overseeing field projects, reviewing reports, preparing proposals for related services, and assisting senior staff in marketing our services by maintaining regular client interactions. An appropriate level of sales expectations will be negotiated and expected. You will mentor junior and senior facilities staff and play a key role in marketing ECS facilities services throughout the region. Candidates should have broad-based experience working on Facilities, Building Envelope and Specialty Materials Testing projects.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a BS degree in Engineering or Architecture [or a related discipline].
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license in Virginia and/or Washington, DC required, or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within three months of hire date.
• Strong marketing and business development skills; candidates should have the ability to manage and develop existing and new clients.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication, and strong project and personnel management skills.
• Experience managing BE&F projects is a must along with a solid understanding of building engineering concepts.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
• Must be self-motivated and responsible.
• Ability to work well with others, and build a team.
