Summary of Position:

The primary function of this role is to prepare structural steel and concrete design for applications in the mining & metallurgical and industrial sectors.

Education and Experience:

• University degree in related field and P. Eng registration
• Previous North American experience.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Solid knowledge of applicable standards, codes and requirements.
• Must have experience with dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills working as a Senior Engineer.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients and staff in a team environment as well as independently
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts and sketches.
• Prepare proposals, feasibility studies, reports and preliminary design.
• Investigate field problems and prepare reports
• Prepare detailed design calculations and analysis for steel and concrete structures (using STAAD and other software)
• Prepare technical and other project specifications
• Coordinate structural work with the work of other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance to co-workers.
• Supervise the work of structural engineers, designers and draftpersons
